What Budget-Conscious Proposals Do Best
Low-budget proposals tend to do something that elaborate proposals sometimes fail at: they force the person proposing to rely entirely on meaning rather than spectacle. They require more thought about the specific person, more reliance on personal gestures, more emotional vulnerability. These are, precisely, the ingredients that make a proposal powerful.
