Book a private tasting at a vineyard. The sommelier presents four wines, each named after a year from your relationship. The fifth and final wine is labelled "Engagement" – and the box contains a ring.

Build a simple website chronicling your relationship – your story, photos, favourite memories. The final page: the proposal. Send her the link with a vague message. She starts clicking. She can't stop.

Have "Will you marry me?" written in the sand or spelled out in flowers at a recognisable outdoor location so it shows up in satellite view. Show her on Google Maps. Then take her there.
